NBC announced a few months back that Jay Leno would be moving to 10pm Monday through Friday this fall. Now, the network's announcing some more pieces of its lineup for next season, including six new series. Maura Tierney leaves the "ER" behind for drama at home as a mom in "Parenthood." Peter Krause and Craig T. Nelson also star in this series, based on the 1989 film "Parenthood." Paramedics get the spotlight in the drama "Trauma." It's from some of the creators of "Friday Night Lights"...and is one of two medical dramas. The other is "Mercy." Michelle Trachtenberg stars as one of three nurses trying to navigate life inside and outside of the hospital. A global catastrophe has the residents of an apartment building on the run in "Day One." "ER"'s David Lyons stars as one of the residents trying to piece together what's happened. The shenanigans at a community college provide the setting for "Community", one of two new sitcoms. Joel McHale stars and the ensemble also features "Saturday Night Live" alum Chevy Chase in his first sitcom. Sophie Winkelman's a woman looking for love through a dating service in "100 questions."
The biggest question is, which of these shows will catch on with viewers? NBC announced that "Parks and Recreation" and "Southland" will also return next season. So will "Heroes", "The Office", "30 Rock", "The Biggest Loser", "Law and Order SVU" and "Friday Night Lights".
Still 'on the bubble' are "Medium", "Law and Order", "My Name is Earl" and "Chuck". Word on those shows will come within two weeks.
